The "How of Q"
There are many books written for teens that teach life skills. Unfortunately, most teens will
never read these books. What makes Quest a successful program are our training methods - "How of Q"...
Quest Teen Leadership is an experiential training with an interactive learning model. Our
training uses exercises – role-plays, skits, and games – as metaphors for life. This process
allows the participants to come face-to-face with many unconscious ways they view life and make
subsequent choices. In a safe, non-judgmental environment, teens have the opportunity to experience
and discover the ways that they create their own lives by the choices they make. These experiences
will provide tangible tools that teens can apply in the real world. Each training is led by a
certified trainer, and teens work in small groups facilitated by volunteer small group leaders.
Experiential trainings create lasting results. Just like we learn to ride a bicycle through doing
it instead of reading about it, humans learn core leadership, listening, and interaction skills
through actual experience through specifically designed activities. Through experiential learning,
lifelong knowledge in these skills are created that can be referenced back by the teen throughout
his or her life.
I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.
